Ok I’ve deleted all the spam comments and will put a spam filter on. Are we done with conspiracies? I don’t think so and we still have yet to finish with the Bruce Ivins anthrax coverup, the Gulf Spill and BP coverup. Don’t worry, what you can’t see won’t hurt you. A war in Afganistan and Iraq. A mercenary army provided by blackwater now the ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. We are in such good hands.

Where is the democratic bailout plan?

The Democrats have a majority in the house and senate. Since the republicans and the American people will blame the democrats on whatever plan passes why not write their own. Instead the democrats are letting the republicans put up a bill that has more tax breaks for the wealthy written by lobbyists from the large financial firms. Put back the section that allows bankruptcy judges to adjust the loans on homes.

This is ridiculous. Why not craft a democratic plan, pass it, and take responsibility for it? Why don’t the democrats grow a pair?

I don’t pretend to understand exactly what has happened to the financial markets. That we have left it in the hands of greedy and unscrupulous people is clear. I do know that if we leave it to the current corrupt and incompetent administration and those multinational corporations that created this mess, it will be the American people who get screwed.

What happened at the Bolivar Peninsula? I have heard reports about thousands being trapped after the bridges where ordered closed, during hurricane Ike. What happened to the 20,000 people who lived in Crystal Beach, Texas? Who stayed and who got out?

GALVESTON — Mayor Lyda Ann Thomas on Monday ordered all city employees not to talk to news reporters. She did not say when that order would be lifted.

Thomas and City Manager Steve LeBlanc will be the only officials allowed to talk to reporters. City spokeswoman Mary Jo Naschke vehemently denied the city was trying to clamp down on coverage.

She said emergency personnel and city employees were too busy to talk to reporters. Naschke also said the city had been accommodating news reporters by allowing them access to the island when others weren’t allowed, giving them escorted rides to damaged areas and allowing them to move about outside during a curfew.

But at a noon press conference Monday, Thomas and LeBlanc talked for less than 30 minutes and refused to answer more than five questions. Thomas said she would try to hold another conference today.

Daily News reporters who tried to speak to city employees were denied and told no one could talk except for the mayor and city manager.

Where is Hilary?

Hilary has decided to bow out of this election cycle and I can only presume anything she says now is for her run for the White House in 2012. Clearly she is saving her full-throated support for Obama, for after the election. While it would be useful to hear from her now it appears she is still holding a grudge. We will remember.
